Recently, Gonsalves spoke with Amplify’s Donna Devine to update you on her latest news. In August 2021, Amplify’s Tara Vargas Wallace spoke with Gonsalves. See that interview at: https://bit.ly/38xWLwW.
Jasmine Gonsalves, owner of Exclusive Queen, an organization founded to inspire and empower women in all walks of life, says that losing herself to a toxic relationship led her to become a certified self-love coach.
“I truly lost myself. I couldn't stare at myself in the mirror. I'm usually a bubbly, outgoing person, full of energy, and I just wasn't any more,” she says. “Not that I didn't see the point of living, but I had no drive. I was disgusted and knew that I had to take control.”
Gonsalves began working out with a personal trainer and says the process of physical transformation allowed her to take back control.
“Now, if I'm having a stressful day, I literally will block off my calendar and do a 30-minute workout at home,” she says. “It’s just the reset that I need.”
After establishing Exclusive Queen in 2020, Gonsalves, who was born and raised on Cape Cod, has grown her enterprise to include a new website, exclusivequeen.me which launched in March. The site includes videos designed to motivate, and information about monthly Exclusive Queen events and client testimony. From there, Gonsalves said clients can also join her monthly newsletter.
In addition, Gonsalves also released her first book "Underground Action". Released yesterday- https://www.exclusivequeen.me/ebook
Gonsalves also began teaching Tabata - high intensity training - and will be hosting a booty challenge at the All Eats Gym in Fall River.
As Gonsalves continues to expand EQ offerings, she said she’s there to support all women on their journey to self-love, and finding their tribe.
“At Exclusive Queen (EQ), I'm here to guide you and see you perform and live a fulfilled lifestyle,” she says. “I know what I'm doing is bigger than just me and that's why God placed it in my heart and in my soul to move forward with coaching.”
Amplify: What is self-love?
Jasmine: Self-love is a daily process. It’s not an overnight journey and requires you to give yourself grace. It is working through and digging into what’s holding us back from living our best life. Sometimes you’ll realize you haven't dug in enough. It's a constant process of self-forgiveness, self-awareness, self-care, and setting boundaries. You want to sit at tables with people that want what you want. Find your tribe.
One of the hardest things to work through is to get up every day and be motivated, inspired and encouraged to keep going especially when you don't have support. And I thought, ‘you know what, if I can do that, if I can help one person, I'm doing something right. I'm making an impact.’ And that's been my goal as I’m building and developing EQ. I want to make a larger impact. Helping one person is great. But, how about thousands? How about millions? That's my big vision.
Amplify: Tell me about EQ’s new website?
Jasmine: This is the year of execution and moving intentionally for me so I’m excited to have added the website. The website, exclusivequeen.me, launched a few weeks ago and there you’ll find videos from my Instagram designed to get you motivated; you’ll find information about our monthly EQ Events and the beautiful Queens that have attended some of our past events and their testimonials. From there you can join our monthly newsletter as well as find information on other upcoming events. We’re currently working on a 6 week, self-love course, so stay tuned to the website where I’ll keep you posted.
Amplify: Tell me about your book.
Jasmine: Underground Action, is an e-book and drops Saturday (April 22, 2022). It’s a book that fully focuses on the good, the bad and the ugly parts of self-love. It’s not an ordinary book - it’s an open and honest conversation about the journey.
This is my very first book. My father, Sean Gonsalves, is a well-known writer on the Cape. Growing up I've always hated reading and writing so this is exciting because I am able to fully express something that's super important to me. I believe self care is important to everybody.
In the book, I share with my readers what has worked for me and what hasn’t. I want readers to understand that self-love is a daily focus. I provide affirmations that I believe are important in your day-to-day life.
Throughout the book, there are many pulse checks where we re-evaluate ourselves and by the end of the book, I believe that women will have a better understanding of what is possible and where they could go. I want people to know that they have support, and EQ is a community they’re gaining. You’ve gained a cheerleader, a hype woman, and you’ll have an accountability partner. It doesn't just stop at just the book - I'm here to support you.
Amplify: Tell me about your EQ Events?
Jasmine: EQ Events are held the second or third weekend of every month. On May 14th, we’re hosting a luxury picnic on the Cape. I’m super excited about this next one. Space is limited to fifteen Queens to keep it real intimate and to make sure that we have the time for everyone to talk and express themselves.
All future EQ Events will be posted on the website and include other locations throughout New England. We’re still working out the details of our upcoming retreats so keep your eyes on the website for more updates.
Amplify: What are 5 self-love tools you would share with women just starting their self-love journey?
Jasmine:
1. Water. Being from the Cape, it is a requirement for me to be within fifteen minutes of the water. I go to the beach year round to either sit or watch the waves.
2. Routine fitness. To be honest, this is something that keeps me going.
3. Traveling. Put yourself in different situations. I used to travel every three months. Surroundings play a big part in how we live. Taking myself out of draining environments, as often as possible, is empowering.
4. Journaling, journaling, and more journaling.
5. Music. It has helped me work through some of the darkest points in my life. I legit have self-love playlists. Again, it’s all about your surroundings and what you're listening to.
