“I always knew I would start a business of my own one day. I knew I had something creative in me that I needed to let out.”

Amplify: Tell us a little about yourself?
Perry: First and foremost, I am a mother of two beautiful little girls. They are my drive in life! They watch everything I do so it is important that they see me try whether I succeed or fail. They must see me take chances and never give up! I was born and raised on Cape Cod and I love it here. I love that I get to raise my girls in the same place I grew up, it’s like reliving my childhood. I come from a big family with five siblings and countless nieces and nephews. My parents have been married for forty three years and have created a legacy of love and unity for our family. I find joy in making memories with my family and friends. Quality time is my love language.

Amplify: What does your business offer?
Perry: We are a glow paint splashing experience. You can make a work of art of your canvas and yourself! We also offer birthdays parties and events. We offer a time to come in a let loose and make memories to cherish with your loved ones.

Amplify: What inspired you to get into this business?
Perry: “I always knew I would start a business of my own one day. I knew I had something creative in me that I needed to let out.”

I have operated my father’s wildlife removal company, Perry Le Pews Wildlife Management (shameless plug lol) for the past twelve years. Over the years I would come up with different business ideas but never felt the urge to make the move until my mom and I came up with this idea. It was like I couldn't stop myself even if I wanted to! There were times when I was like what are you doing?! But I kept calling around about different locations and continued through the process of opening a business. I felt a compelling force pushing me this time. I can’t explain it. I just knew I needed to follow through on it! This business really holds firm to the mantra that my mother and I have embodied my whole life. We are about making memories and giving our kids fun experiences over material things. It's about letting go and enjoying the moment you are in, not worrying about the past or the future, just being present in the moment.

Amplify: What steps did you take to get your business started?
Perry: I had some savings and luckily some support from my family who believed in me enough to invest in my business to help me get started. But I started with pen and paper. I wrote down my vision plan. Then I searched for a place that would accommodate everything I wanted. The hardest part was finding a landlord that would embrace this concept. I was told "No. Too messy" or I just wouldn’t get calls back after pitching my idea.

Amplify: Where do you see your business in five years?
Perry: I see another location, and a mobile option for parties and events.

Amplify: What are some words of inspiration you would give to an aspiring entrepreneur?
Perry: Sometimes NO just means a better YES. I was told flat out NO to a location that I thought would be everything I had dreamed! I literally cried! I couldn't see another option and felt discouraged, but God had something far better lined up for me! That same day another opportunity came through for me and it turned out to be a much better spot. I laugh to myself now when I think about it! What I had envisioned the set up to be in that location compared to the way this location is set up now, was exactly what I had written in my vision plan but BIGGER. Have faith and write your vision down. And last but not least, the people you surround yourself with are so important. My circle of friends and family support, guide, and cheer me on. They also correct me when I am wrong out of love and help me to grow. Like-minded people and goal-orientated people are worth their weight in gold.
